We just wrapped up our quarterly Boards of Directors meetings, where we celebrated several recent legislative and regulatory wins, and talked about how to remove persistent regulatory barriers our companies are facing. We hosted FERC Commissioner David Rosner for a fireside chat, where he discussed several of our shared priorities, including avenues for speeding generator interconnection, supporting interregional transmission build-out, and making it easier to power large loads on the grid. It is clear to me that advanced energy technologies are the best solution set for increasing grid capacity, meeting peak demand, and lowering consumer costs. At Advanced Energy United, we know no one technology is the answer to America's energy needs–it takes all our technologies working together. We’re honored to be seen by decision-makers as the voice of a truly united energy industry.

New York Risks Falling Behind As Grid Upgrades Stall
The New York State Assembly adjourned its 2026 session without passing advanced transmission technologies (ATTs) legislation that would have required utilities to evaluate modern grid technologies capable of expanding transmission capacity faster and more affordably. United’s Kristina Persaud condemned the commission’s decision, pointing out in our statement to the press that other states are adopting ATTs as common-sense tools to improve reliability and lower costs. United looks forward to working with the legislature to prioritize this when they reconvene. Read more.>

Massive SunZia Wind Project Starts Commercial Operation
United member company Pattern Energy’s SunZia wind and transmission projects, which combined are the largest clean energy infrastructure project in U.S. history, are now delivering power to California customers. Energy from SunZia Wind is carried from central New Mexico to south-central Arizona via the SunZia 525-kV high-voltage direct-current transmission line, and at least three California community choice aggregators have contracted to receive power from SunZia Wind. Ormat Finalizes Industry's Largest Geothermal Power Plant Design
United member company Ormat Technologies has developed a geothermal power plant design, called the Ormega100, that would be the largest of its kind in the industry, capable of producing 100MW of electricity. The Ormega100 will use an enhanced geothermal system, a method that injects water a mile-and-a-half deep into the ground to capture heat generated from the earth's core. Read more.>
