What a moment to be in advanced energy! The U.S. is in the midst of an energy transformation driven by technological advancements, customer preferences, and policy change. Last week, I had the pleasure of joining Leader-level member Landis+Gyr for its Exchange 2026 event as an opening keynote speaker, where I talked about how our member companies are at the forefront of deploying the affordable, reliable, and resilient power solutions to meet today’s energy challenges. I also talked about the power of engaging policymakers: at Advanced Energy United, we’re focused on removing the regulatory barriers standing in the way of the technology solutions of all our members. California Lawmakers Advance Package of Affordability Bills as Others Fail Amid Effort to Reduce Rising Energy Costs
As the California legislative session reaches its mid-year point, lawmakers took an important step in advancing a package of energy affordability and accountability bills. United’s Brandon Garcia applauded the passage of these bills that will support a more reliable and modern electricity grid, including SB 913, which would allow customer-owned clean energy resources to compete on a level playing field with traditional power sources. He also acknowledged the shortcomings of the legislature in failing to pass AB 1975, which would have enabled better grid optimization. Read more.>

Utility Dive: Financing for California’s Signature Virtual Power Plant Remains Uncertain
Utility Dive reports that California's nation-leading virtual power plant (VPP) program, called the Demand Side Grid Support (DSGS) program, could lose funding under Gov. Newsom’s budget proposal. United’s Brandon Garcia stated that DSGS is one of the most cost-effective and scalable tools California has to reduce peak demand and bolster the grid, urging state leaders to preserve stable long-term funding for the program through 2026 and beyond. Enbridge, Meta to Build 365-MW Solar/200-MW Storage Project
Enbridge and United member company Meta are expanding their clean energy partnership with a solar and storage project in Wyoming, which will supply Meta data centers with 365MW of solar and a 200 MW/1,600 MWh battery energy storage system. Including this project, the two companies have partnered to develop 1.6 GW of solar, wind, and storage capacity. Read more.>

Entergy Arkansas, Google and ICF Partnership Helps Unlock Energy Savings for Crittenden County Residents
A new partnership between United member company Google, Entergy Arkansas, and ICF is helping remove barriers that have prevented many Arkansas families from accessing energy efficiency upgrades—bringing meaningful savings and support to Crittenden County residents. The companies expect to support approximately 200 households by addressing pre-weatherization needs before completing energy-saving upgrades. This coordinated model ensures families can qualify for programs that lower energy use and reduce monthly bills. Read more.>
