What does Advanced Energy United do? It’s a question we get asked by people just hearing about us for the first time. For those unfamiliar with advocacy work and how an effective trade association operates, explaining what we do and why we’re effective is best done with real-life stories. To that end, we’ve launched a refresh of our website, designed to make it easier to share timely developments and communicate with our members and new audiences alike. Among other new features, we’re excited to introduce a new content stream called Impact Stories, which spotlights examples of United’s advocacy in action. With an initial dozen stories already live—and more on the way—we’re highlighting real-world examples across venues and verticals where United has championed policy solutions that maximize the potential of advanced energy technologies. With a clean new look, improved navigation, and clearer insights into who we are and where we are headed, our updated website brings our mission and the value we provide to the advanced energy industry into sharper focus. I hope you’ll take a moment to read some of these stories, learn more about our work, and see firsthand how we’re turning policy solutions into market opportunities for our members.

Reliability and affordability are of paramount importance for PJM. Two paths lie ahead for the region: One in which primarily gas resources are deployed to meet rising load, and one in which policy change enables higher deployment of advanced energy resources (wind, solar and storage, demand flexibility resources, and ATTs). A new analysis, conducted by Synapse Energy Economics for United, analyzes these pathways from a reliability and cost perspective. Read more.>

Latitude Media: PJM’S $178 Billion Fork in the Road
Latitude Media reports on a new study from United, produced by Synapse Energy Economics, which finds that allowing for increased deployment of renewables in PJM Interconnection via near-term policy changes would reduce the frequency of outages across the grid operator's 13-state territory by 97% in 2030. United's Jon Gordon noted that the region will most likely experience more outages unless states and grid operators take action by reforming interconnection processes to speed up advanced energy buildout.
