Michigan Utilities Must Consider Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) Going Forward, Warns MPSC
According to a new order from the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), utilities must consider whether VPPs can be leveraged to prevent the need for raising consumer rates and to bolster grid reliability. The MPSC pointed specifically to testimony from Advanced Energy United, the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council, and the Institute for Energy Innovation in its order. Nevada Regulators Approve NV Energy’s Entry into the Extended Day-Ahead Market
The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) approved NV Energy’s proposal to join the Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM), marking a milestone moment for the future of Western energy markets. San Jose, Calif., LS Power Ink Deal for 2 GW of New Transmission Capacity
San José, CA, has approved a franchise agreement with United member company LS Power to construct two major electric transmission infrastructure projects, strengthening the city's grid reliability, supporting economic development, and advancing electrification goals. Construction is set to be completed by the end of 2028 and add about 2GW of transmission capacity. Read more.>

Generac and CPower Expand Access to DER Technologies to Support Resiliency, Energy Costs and Grid Capacity
United member company Generac announced a collaboration with CPower Energy to support commercial and industrial customers across PJM Interconnection by leveraging distributed generation to achieve greater resiliency and demand response outcomes. The collaboration pairs Generac's equipment and industrial dealer network with CPower's wholesale market program access and demand response expertise to deploy distributed generation solutions, including battery energy storage systems, generators, and microgrids.
